Sorry mate, I didn't think you'd asked anything :o
Fuel, average on the way down there and back was just about 38mpg, average around the track, for the whole day, was 9.1mpg
The roof, inside it's quiet as a mouse, fair quieter in fact than the Clio (not as quiet as the 320, obiously).
With...
Yeah me and Ant were talking about it. There's space for one in my garage too.
We did the Burpspeed Llandow trackday mate, did you not see the thread? Much cheapness for lots of driving!
We had pirelli pzero's on the back and some goodyear tyres on the front. We were running 255's on the...
I really hope not! As ant says, one day we used over 50% of the pad, and they were fading within four laps!
Nice to meet you too mate, shame I didn't get a passenger ride out in the MX, would have liked to see how it went. RWD was definitely fun, I can't wait to start finding my feet with it...
LOL! Thanks for the info. We probably cooked the fluid with the amount of abuse the pedal had to take... :o so I'll look at replacing it anyway. Any idea what the pads were? Horrific doesn't even come close!
It was awesome fun mate, really really enjoyed myself. Wasn't setting any land speed records, but I had great fun. The brakes are beyond normal bad, they're utterly awful.
The wheels themselves are pretty cool TBH, with the right tyres all the way around and painted just in the graphite grey...
Sorry... ;)
Thanks to Dan for the awesome photos. The verdict - Car: Awesome. Brakes: Utterly shocking. FOUR laps and they were dying off in a big way.
Rear braided lines to bit fitted ASAP along with some new pads and some new fluid.
iPhone. 100%.
Import your music from WMP into iTunes and you'll be happy as it gets.
If you get an iPhone 4, as opposed to a 4s, then you'll get it cheap enough.
FYI an iPhone will work just fine on a windows setup and there's no need to go filling your house with apple stuff, although I...
Neither would I mate!
We (reads Ant) went a bit mental with the paint, it's florescent and there's s**t tones of it on there.
They look good enough though and are very fit for purpose, drive down to the track day with them on, drive back with (possibly two of) them on and then swap back.
I bet it's a grinding, sort of like a slipping noise, or like if you rotated an electric drill with a phillips end on it on a hard surface. Like a rotating grind.
I had this when flooring it, the shaft was knackard. Was the shaft you sourced second hand?
I'd say it's knackard and not been noticed as visually they look OK when these are the symptoms, when I removed mine it was fine.
By the time I'd done 200 miles home it'd be ruined! Good to know though Russ, maybe some day when I'm up at Luton for a while (family there) I'll book in or something.
Discounted rate for not having a roof? ;)
Awesome. Really really awesome. Do you charge more or less for the tuition? After all it's effectively having a lacky... ;)
Where are you located Russ?
Edit, just looked, Walsall? FFS. Why is it that everyone I'd like to give my car to isn't local in the slightest??
They're only for the track days mate.
Otherwise they'd have been silver or anthracite, they look SO good in anthracite.
Do you really think I'd just rock around on these and go to business meetings etc? LOL!
You realise that's paint right? As in it could be changed? ;)
They're not the good 32's anyway, they're deeper than the 18's I had on the 320, but they not staggered etc.
TBH it was dark outside and without sunlight you can't really capture how they look.
It seemed a bit of a shame to do this to them, as in grey they looked MINT, but they need to be at least a little exciting.
LOL!
Whilst I see the point you're trying to make, slinging a wire brush lightly across some tyres to get rid of some paint is hardly a ridiculous idea.
