Got the brembos cleaned of all ingrained brake dust. This was a pain as autowheels, korrosol or iron out just wouldnt touch it.
Mixed some kkd devils juice up 1:1.5 and this finally got it all off. Still needed help with wire brushes and the dremel but got there in the end! Definitely all in...
Had a trip to The Motorist for Classics and curry with @Steve_RS , @Romanian Tyre Fitter & @leeds2592. Drive there and back was absolute hell with the crashes and road closures on the m62 but the actual event was great.
Great assortment of cars and good to see some different to the usually...
It more looks like theyve not been blasted properly to remove the remnants of brake dust mate, are they raised up or divets? Doesnt make a difference anyway as the bit that looks good faces outwards 😎
I'm amazed that fitting that boot full of grease was the cure. Mines not no lead in it yet!
PMS spec:
New minebea bearing,
Sound deadening on shifter body
Sheet Silicone gasket and silicone sealant
Boot full of red rubber grease
O-ring under lift up reverse collar.

For your airbag I'd be pulling out the horn...
If anything went into the splines it was a tiny bit of moly. And I mean tiny, I genuinely cant remember now though!
I'll try the test, never have any issue going into reverse usually.
In a bid to make the gearshift feel less w**k and to improve the rattle I removed the linkage and fitted a boot over the bearing.
Tried doing this the first time but the boot ripped so bagged a new one then filled it with red rubber grease.
Also readjusted the shifter to try improve the...
Been at it all evening and not really got anywhere? Started off trying to look into the box and see if I could watch the input shaft but doing it alone I had no chance. Hardly any room in there even with an endoscope cam.
Nothing really looks untoward and it's not caked in clutch dust which...
