I went to view a 182 he was selling last week, it was alright bit ropey round edges but half decent history but he himself didn't seen to know a great deal about motors. I've just brought a trophy instead now
Tbh I average 31-32mpg mixed driving (bit around town an to work an back which is country b roads). Its not quite as good as my old 172 but not alot worse considering fuel prices have risen and I think the 172 mpg computer is a bit sceptical :s
Looks good but can't see it running that bhp, standard ones rarely make the book power. Looks good though but majeure the Cambelts been changed cause its 5 years old now. I'm currently selling my 197 due to moving house lol. Welcome to the site
Sounds like the starters had it tbh, had a similar problem on an old renault 5 gt turbo couple of years back. Turned out the heatsheild was missing an the starter was getting to hot.
Fairplay, insurance really isn't kind at 18 now days but atleast your lucky to have something you want an enjoy unlike alot of young kids. I paid 1900tpft at 18 on my old vtr. Now I moan if its over 600 quid haha. Enjoy it while you can.
I'm not a fan of the non manufacture warrentys offered by outside companys. The dealership i used to work for as a mechanic used to sell them an the trouble my old service manager used to have with them agreeing to carry work an pay out claims. We used to have cars sat about for ages waiting...
Yeah they do look better then standard rusty spec bolts ;) cool I ran gaz on my 172 which weed great on the smooth but slight sign of uneven surface an they were anyhow. I'm selling my 197 soon hopefully for a 172 cup cause I'm buying a pad so just getting a few ideas. Nice car anyway matey.
tbh I rate them, I had a 172 and now have a 197. Handling wise the 197 is leaps an bounds as standard in front of the 1*2. As said the mpg is a little worse an parts are a little more expensive but it does feel a much better put together car an I can't really see mileage being much of a problem...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Saw your motor on Sunday, had a good snoop around an good chat with Matt from tdf, nice motor you have there. Shame I didn't see it in action.
Dogbone is defo worth it, easy to fit. Just burn old bush's out then put a hacksaw done the ally bit that is left from ths old bush an knock it out then push the powerless one in an knock the metal sleeve through an refit
