I'm sorry but you're wrong.
After this weekend, the only thing on my car that's obviously not standard will be the suspension. To most, the car will look pretty much standard, but it'll be lower.
Baring in mind my car is a daily, the lows don't really do anything other than make it much more...
There's been a few ph1 reps, some good, some not so good.
The above car is hilariously over priced, 90% of sport are cheaper than that!!!! (I realise insurance may not be viable, but I'm just saying).
I'm a mega ph1 fan, having owned one for five years in one form or another, but the ph2 non...
A nice introduction there, welcome to the club mate. There's plenty of members on here with a crazy amount of technical know how to help you out with anything you choose to do.
Look on the threads on here to find the resistor ratings, there used to be about 9,000,000 separate threads on it, then pop to maplin, get some proper little resistors and cover the whole fadango in electrical tape. Done.
Looks good lippy, get them refurbed and they'll look much better.
If you actually clean it, and dare I say... wack a bit of tyre shine on it, it'll probably look bang tidy, not a bad motor for a young lady at all.
Sorry?? Someone that turns up??? Who?
It's Sunday morning dude, not Saturday!
I'm not one of the horrendously early crew (the 5:00am'ers) I'm more an 8:30...
Oh, and I've checked everything over tonight, I think the issues may have been a combination of a very hot morning and a small air...
Well as someone suggested earlier, surely I should be able to tell if the water pump is dead by revving the engine with the filler cap open??
Saves you having to mess about ordering it??? Although lately I've had a bit of a weird belt/pulley noise coming from the engine, sort of like a damp...
If you're free I'll pop over Saturday morning then? We can assess the damage. If it's waterpump, crack on, if it's HG, I'll drive to FCS, really f**k it up, and then try to fix it another (less busy) weekend
That alright?
On the HG front, I am mechanically capable, just never had to do...
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
I know it's very last year/3 years, but I still think a matte, army-esque green would look quality on the shape of the Ph1.
On the bright side, my best mates dad is paying for him to do a car wrapping course so he can wrap his work vans, apparently if I buy the...
Right, just drove it a fair distance, no bubbles when I pulled up this time, but the "cold" air coming out of the vents wasn't overly cold, which makes me think the HG is on it's way out, but I'm really not sure at all at the moment... So I'll test the water pump later and after that go to see...
Well I've just ripped my entire dash out and replaced it with a ph2 item, it's only a small black box and is industrial velcro'd to the front top of the glove iirc.
Just phoned for a compression test, 60 bloody quid?!?!? Because the inlet has to come off so it's an hours labour? FFS
I knew we'd be friends when I met you, pushed together by fate ;)
Cheers for all the help so far mate
Interesting...
I had my cambelt done like 8k miles ago.... kill me. The water pump wasn't changed no, should have bloody had it done though I get the feeling...
I really REALLY hope it's HG.
If I can get hold of locking tools, do you know what you're doing? (No offence intended) LOL!
I assume we'd need to acquire a set of locking tools? As I've just been told the cambelt etc has to come off?
A question for you as you seem clued up: How can we tell if it's the water pump or the HG??? As I'm under the impression it could be either?
Well if you're serious, I'll be ringing you no doubt (lol). I'd like to learn TBH. Hard job or a Saturday thing?
Know anywhere good to skim the head? (if it needs it)
Thanks a lot for the offer though, nice to see the forum coming to the rescue :)
That's what I mean, the engine was bloody hot when I checked it, but as far as I'm aware, bubbles are never normal? lol
I have no idea what I'm doing with headwork, unless you're offering a hand? ;)
