That's a point i've been thinking about heavily. Cost.
As i'm only part time, owning the 200 takes up about 60-70% of my basic monthly wage (before I do any extra shifts etc). 90%+ of my miles are to and from work. So basically, I look at this as im spending that percentage of my earnings to...
I've always wanted a bike, so doing it whilst I don't really need a car that much is ideal. I was planning on buying a push bike to go to work, to save on costs. I had one last year whilst the 200 was on order. Rode through rain, snow, ice, everything. Didn't bother me. Quite enjoyed it tbh...
Right another silly idea has popped into my head regarding this...
Its something i've mentioned before, but do my CBT and get a moped. Sell the 200 in the meantime and then wait until after winter to get myself a little Mk2 project for the summer?
It'd be cheap 'motoring', although not that...
I cant get the photo thing to work with the MBP (on Aperture or iPhoto - both dont have the option that it says on icloud.com, but not too bothered. I can always connect up to edit one photo I want).
You'd be surprised... I could get these wheels and sprayed for about just over half the price than what speedlines seem to sell for.
Obviously just a bonus that im one of the few that actually like these wheels.
The plan was to buy another set of standards that are currently up for sale, so id have the two sets.
Know what you mean though. Couple of months down the line, ill be wanting to do something else to it. Ive been considering seeing whether my locals Renaults have a 1*2 in and seeing whether...
As mentioned earlier in the thread, the only problem with this is the lack of choices for 200's from 2010 onwards. I think I can only get coilovers which cost £1k+ that'll fit mine, which is a 'No Deal'.
I would love some lows though.
If someone wouldn't mind ;) (although I don't think Sheeplines are an option, as they'll cost too much)
I don't understand everyone's dislike towards the standard wheels.
By all means, someone can PS them this colour also. Would match my CS URL and CSS sticker ;)
^ I did want it lower tbh, but they don't make any springs for 200's from 2010 onwards (changed the suspension design or something, so all kits out atm just fit ones up to 59 plate iirc, unless things have now changed - I could get some H&Rs for like £160, so I would have snapped them up by now...
Atleast someone has the right attitude ;) lol.
Btw, from what ive been adding up, this can be done relatively cheap (like all in, still about half the cost of buying some 2nd hand sheeplines).
To add:
I've said it before and ill say it again... Standard wheels look great!! Show off teh Brembos.
Id still like a PS if possible, just so that I can see how it'd look.
:o
I want to try and reignite the love for the 200, as its an awesome machine and I think I need to grow a pair, rather than kop out so early into my ownership. Spotted another set of standard wheels for sale and thought id try and go for my original plan of having some red wheels.
My...
Im on about not being able/knowing how to mute the kids, especially the little c***s that are coughing down the mic every 2 seconds!!
Starting to get better at it now ;)
