Had DS3000's on my last Ring trip 1600 miles with brand new Brembo's and DS3000's. They were the dogs bollox little pedel effort (but had new race fluid in) huge braking force with little pedel force... LASTED THE WHOLE TRIP BUT THE DISKS HAD NO MARKS LEFT ON THEM (2 dots) AND THE PADS WERE TO...
YOZZASPORT's Cup is the lightest road cup that i know of.....
Plus its the fastest 2ltr clio i know of on the road....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saw the latest version of it with a properly built engine with the Yozza stuff fitted and all's i can say is fook me....
Fast as...
No suspension mods, just well driven..... hey the 172 cup is the best clio if driven correctly.....!
Well done Mark....one for the Cup boys... under 3mins is goood for a std cup, i couldnt get better than 2.28 on th GT circuit.........
Was a bout 10- lengths behind but couldnt get close. Dont get me wrong its a faster car but wasnt good enough to get close enough. He was a good sport after each session, had a good chat.... top bloke....
Thats what trackdays are all about... great people enjoying their cars....
Last few session in the 28's but couldnt get any fateser unless DS3000's and a -1 passenger (was 2 up all day)....... 27s in a std hp cup is the max for my efforts.....
Well another trackday done and was my first day at Donnington Park and have to say i really enjoyed the curcuit..!
Day started well got to the track all OK and emptied the car had the briefing and signed on. Quick car check, fluid etc and the check the wheel nuts...Snap...
Arnold clarke last year, why?
Also had a go in on through work in Switzerland...and passengered in a couple.
LOL just get some suspension and stop being a none believer...
Been in the demo car for a full day from the dealers...not been on track. But i think the Koni Eibach setup on my car is better for the road (better over poor surfaces) than the trophy set-up (better on smooth surfaces). Compared to the std cup set up both are a massive improvement.
GOOD aftermarket suspension definately improves the handling. Look at the trophy as a perfect example..
On a cup:-
Koni dampers / eibach sportlines - Vast improvement for the road.
H&R coilovers - probabley best road setup.
Bilstiens Coilovers - bit still for the road excellent on track
Leda...
People are not racing each other on the road (or shouldnt anyways).
On a trackday everyone usually pushes their limits and the speeds are much higher, so it has a lot more potential for disaster..
As said we can only compare driver vs driver not car vs car.
Big hp car are not just for show...
You comments are not that valid really, have a day driving both round the track and im sure your opinion of the RS will change. Until then you can only compare driver vs driver not car vs car.
The driver of the Focus was not the best to say the least so its not really a fair comparison. I use...

Also agree there is a big gap in peoples abilities on track at the same time. Some events the driving standards are far better than others. My gf gets a bit intimidated sometimes and dosent want to drive get her on the track on her own (no other cars) then she loves it.
My recommendation is...
Looks like you enjoyed yourself...lol at the Focus lines and the James Bond smoke screen..!
I really liked the circuit but its a shame its so flat....was sub 3mins in the afternoon after getting to know the track. Damn those GT3 RS there bloody quick...
Car only goes as fast as the driver.......
Std cup suspension is very good compared to other car std suspension. But there are great improvements to be had upgrading to H&R / Bilstein / leda's etc.
But thats the case with everycar....
Have to say the Clio with sus mods is a very very quick...
SS stealth like K-tec's i wouldnt declare it on a 172. My cup has a Magnex and have declared it for the reason the style has changed (visible). If i owned a 182 then i would not declare it.
Wouldnt tell them as it look like the origional..
Just cause its made from SS why do you pay extra, 90 of cars on the road dont have OEM exhausts (kwickfits arnt std exhausts from the manufacture so they are aftermarket too)..
Frankly unless the style has changed then i personally wouldnt...
BHP is no substitute for a good driver....alls we are talking about is 50kg and 5bhp..
Get some track instruction and you will be a hell of a lot quicker than the above will ever give you.
