i think it will sell, just not at the current prices. I had a test-drive at the weekend but it wasn't long enough to make any bold statements, I wasn't impressed but it wasn't a good test, just an overall first impression. I have never questioned the looks, I like it.
one thing I found with the 197 is that there is plenty of room for adjustments behind the wheel, i'm 6ft 3ins and its the first car I have ever driven where I can't drive it comfortably with the seat all the way back, plenty of head room front and back too. I wasn't impressed generally though...
the sales man was giving it big time with it. Lots of media interest etc, expecting to sell lots. I was impressed with its composure until I took it beyond 50mph and it started to get chucked around a lot, this could have just been the particular road but in all honesty I don't think it was, but...
Just popped down to SMC Woking on the off-chance of getting a test-drive, had about a 10-15 minute drive in their already damaged (reversed into a post) week old 197. I have to say I wasn't impressed overall, out of everything it just shouts out OVERPRICED for me, no leather, no auto...
i've had a look and sit in one at Goodwood today, they are very smart cars. Will reserve true judgement on driving experience until Brands next month, but I have always liked the look of them, granted they are bigger, but when your 6ft 3ins that's a good thing.
