Sad to see it die, seems a shame to only get one track day out of it really, but if you enjoyed it that's all that matters.
If you get bored and feel generous....:rasp:
I had a crack and succeeded, cheers to all for the advise, I find working on cars is a lot easier if you've got a mate or two to help, even if they know FA, its just a lot of effort doing it on your own!!!
Waiting on the mount/cover from DannyR now and it'll be back to good working order...
Re: Flame Red DCI 80 Sport Rep
Didn't mean to sound like I was insulting you, I thought you may have got the paint code for flame red that's all.
Hopefully a bit of machine polishing will fix it right up.
I'm quite suprised its the same colour really, as pretty much all the sport colours...
Well mine is currently on stands out in the front garden, with the engine on the jack until my engine mount arrives.
So unless I get some big bits of wood I have no idea how I'll get it down, LOL!!!
Re: Flame Red DCI 80 Sport Rep
Not meaning to piss on your chips but, is the non sport definately flame red? Looks very different?
Apart from that, it looks bloody brilliant, still wish I went full ph1 rep on my old non sport in this colour!
Good result having one lying around, lol @ "looked factory" I'm assuming the fuel rail guard looked like a piece of scrap? ;)
Car just sounds like its needs a really good run, never fails to amaze me how much just really driving a car can improve it.
Glad it lives though :)
You didn't drive it with the buggered "just a cambelt cover" did ya??
Because your symptons were the same as mine... i.e driving along, hit basically nothing, serious bang/clunk, engine nearly died but saved it just, my last bolt was all that kept it going I think.
Great news mate, really happy for ya :)
I still want my f**king F1's
Next time you come over this way, come in that, it's needs the run and I wanna see it moving!
Sweet, I'll actually buy these if they stay low low low in price, I'll try get the covers off and clean them up, as my lights are ruined.
Bloody funny advert though.
Nice work, I think it looks really good so far, but I wouldn't have gone matt black with the badge, on the ph2's it just looks like it's missing IMO.
Silver CF wrap could look nice
Hey Darren, tell me about it mate....
Yes indeed it may have been the cause of the vibration.... just for good measure I also have a top GB mount to put on soon, but the spindle needs tightening first.
It looks as though that engine mount is in good condition, no signs of wear at all, so I'll...
Rewarding to do it myself? I guess so.. Saved me a fortune, now thats rewarding!!!
A tiny TINY TINY TINY TINY bit of drill bit may have gone down towards the cambelt, my mate snapped a bit but we have no idea where it went... (sort of lol)
Am I in trouble?
Cheers mate :)
I've got one then...
Looks really good, real shame about your "hiccup's" but hopefully you'll have it sorted ASAP.
Who's going on this trip of yours anyways? Seems A LOT of people are going around this time?
Suprised you didn't take the cover off mate, afterall its "only a cambelt cover" ;)
Really hope you get it sorted, as I never did get that passenger ride!
So... in relation to this thread: The worst thing ever
After A LOT of swearing etc, me and a couple of mates finally managed to get the two snapped bolts out of my engine today, leaving me with a car like this:
On two axle stands and with a trolley jack holding the engine up as no mount is...
