Mate that pipe is tiny! LOL
I'll log into my ebay and find the exact one you need.... (be warned i did have to make one end shorter so it fitted, easy enough with something very sharp)
I also bought a small breather to go over the oil catch tube.
The particular filter i have shown only takes air in through the front, so having a CAF (even a taped one) there does show and improvement.
Even with a filter like you have pictured, having cold air feed near is always a positive thing as you want the air around the filter to be fresh cold air...
My filter setup was 100% exactly the same as yours is in that picture, i guess its my angle that doesnt show the size of the gap behind the engine where the airbox used to be, (sorry)
My feed ran from the same daft whole in that piece of metal down the bottom below the passenger headlight and...
Ok.. pics... but first things to ignore
The silver max power, look at me, bling bling cone. (I was a student, free when brand new is epic when a student (and i've only had a job for 3 weeks))
The gaffa tape holding the cold air intake to the filter (student excuse again)
I have also moved...
I replaced my "u" shaped pipe with a 90 degree silicone bend mate, car sounds and seems much better especially at high revs, i'll go out and take a pic in a minute (you'll have to excuse the gaffa tape holding the air intake perfectly in place, have gotta make a mount)
Ph1 1.2 air intake is a...
I have the same engine as you mate, if not its an even earlier model of it, mine looks shoddy and my engine cover is different somehow?
I've tried two different filter setups, running it off the standard "U" shaped pipe, which seemed very restricted and got very hot, then I have made my ownn...
Any one else experiencing this? I'm getting a 0.99 mb/s download and a 1.0 mb/s upload????
Thought it was my comp being funny, not the net, oh how wrong I was, spent all night messing about with comp, no avail, one simple speed test, BAM!
Will be phoning o2 when i return from work tmrw. :(
Colour match on centre caps is unforgivable, I did wonder what the idea itself would look like and i'm glad someone has done it so I can safely answer, not good, not good at all.
Coming along nicely mte, Dynamic spoiler next 100%! Will make such an improvement
Important question, what colour have you painted the wheels? i.e the colour code
AND
Are they lacqured too? Or just painted?
Where abouts are you from mate?
There's quite a few lads around here with nicely modded 172's in terms of power and handling, smitchell and giraffe come to mind.
I think next time we need to have a confirmation.... would make things a lot better (I'll explain at the ened)
Sorry you went all that way Jonni, woulda been good to see another mk1 and meet another member, don't be put off to come down again!!!
The format for meets should now be.....

Really nice mate, after the spoiler only two things left IMO. 16" o.z. f1's, and one of the two bigger spoilers :)
Gave mine its last wash for the winter today, but I got cramp so it didn't even get a polish or wax to seal it.
Surley for a "rat" car, rats or mice is just a mod, or even possibly an upgrade????
But seriously, bad news, hope you sort it, and scared of rodents? Man the f**k up!
Who is best to do it? Any website specifically?
Got an old sony erricsson w800i I want to use on my new job (will be on site) and don't want to ruin the iPhone.
Currently locked to orange, obviously want it to be o2.
Are there some sorta torrents that would do this FOC?
Cheers
Same! LOL! Its not like steve and will to not come online and check if they were gonna go, and i'm sure if they do go, they'd have more than enough fun racing eachother up and down the a20/m25/23 anyway.
Rossy, don't worry, all bus drivers are grumpy old tarts! ;)
Yeah but buying new alloys plus tyres isnt gonna work out cheap surely?
Think your car looks wicked on the wheels its on tbh mate.
Considered going for part worn tyres? You'd be suprised how good some places can be! Ask a local cabbie for the best ones in the area...
