I'd try speaking to Renault about it mate. You may have a recall for the throttle cable. They took care of mine a couple of months ago. Give them a ring, tell them your reg number and ask if there's any recalls for your car.

I've never owned a mk1 but i noticed this on a couple of my friends' motors as well. afaik it's normal for them to do that. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to tell me i'm wrong.

It's also useful if you have A/C. The air is cooled a lot quicker as cool air goes back in to be supercooled :cool:
