I like the colour. But if I didn't I'd be calling my father a chump... Clean it, photo it, sell it for the 1-1.5 you'll make and stop driving around with gloves and a scarf on, with a sock down your pants. X Oh, and whoever said 6k for a 225 with low miles - what's your idea of low miles, 90k??

your insurance cost & who you're with at what age? sport models only

The point I made about daily threads on this subject was what SkyIns was refering to... There are at least three below this one that show people's prices, their car, their age etc etc. Hence our reactions to this thread being a wee bit pointless.

    Bi Xenon retro 50% finished

I really can't tell much difference, but I am very impressed with the "have a go myself" attitude, so kudos on that front buddy!

    halfords

To be fair, Halfords stock a lot of products that are "good as a substitute". For example we all know and love G101. But if I run out, I pop up for some Engine and Machine cleaner. They stock Autosol and wet and dry grades, AG intensive tar remover is average, but only in comparison to Tardis...

Let me know on the v7 Lew?

    Plastic Bottle With Sprayer

Will they contain corrosive chemicals? If not, poundland, B&Q, any DIY store basically. If so, I4D with chemical resistant spray heads.

    Advice needed

I add the usual amount that I would add to a bucket to a spray head bottle. So the mix is higher concentration than a wash bucket.

Looks great :) But forget the UDS.

Yes, he could. But then we'd have to put up with 37 more threads/PMs to me until he buys the products. This way, he gets on with it, gets it protected and then waits for the better weather to buy the rest. Only joshing with you Todd ;) Or am I..................

Better 'by hand' polish than SRP?

Me about the C4? But yeah fella, fancy trying it. No need for the sealant pal, Vics will do nicely! You'll love Gal's trickery ;) Why not buddy? You'd be surprised - think P1 but with you getting on well with it lol! x

Blo0dDiamond: The TeamAriane Clio Project. str0ng.

Re: The 'TeamAriane' clio... Ghetto goodness. Just to point out, Paul managed to get something ridiculous like 8bhp out of my 1.2 16v... So if anyone can up the Welshmobile, it's him!

    G3, by hand?

Because it just isn't a nice product to use. It's for body shops that want a quick fix without an afterthough to what the paint looks like as long as it's smooth.

    G3, by hand?

As above. If you don't want to, 203s/p1 with a hand pad will eventually get it out. But you're talking the time it takes to machine most of the car!!

    Focus RS detail :)

I always aim for 100% correction. Obviously, you want the best outcome possible. But I have only ever achieve anything like that on my own Clio. Most cars come to me in such a state that 85-90% is the limit do to RDS/thin paint.

Better 'by hand' polish than SRP?

Oi I thought we were exchanging P1/C4?
  22. J

    halfords

Yes. I'm not joking, the Clio had the above treatment for six months before I caught the detailing bug. Oh the early days of 2004... Good idea. Amen brother!

Better 'by hand' polish than SRP?

But it doesn't contain any abrasives, so we still need a polish :) Almost doubling up there, but I have done it before. So a fair mix of car paints and hardness. Look at 203s with a hand pad, backed up by a decent filler glaze, (Clearkote/Poorboys range).

    G3, by hand?

G3 is a polish. There is no curing involved...? It's not a sealant! Don't be. It gets a bad name. Even with VAG paint, a decent machine polish by a N00b will do wonders. But with the sacrifice of how much paint? Pics would really help Scott.

    Advice needed

Do you mean the tyres look glossy, or your trim? The Vinyl and Rubber Care/Tyre Dressing are the same product with different Esters (the compounds that make different scents). It is an OK product on trim, but is only good for a day/show on tyres. When you say "clean headlights", do you have a...

    G3, by hand?

Key question, what car is it? If you're talking BMW/VAG paint work, machine polishing is likely to be your only option as the paint is just too hard to even start making headway. If it's Renault paint, Menzerna 203s on a Lake County Hand Cut Pad could help. Failing that, P1 from GTechnic has...

Better 'by hand' polish than SRP?

Spot on. But to also move on from SRP, look into P1 with a hand applicator, or my personal favourite 203s from Menzerna, with a Lake County Orange Hand Cut pad; As Lew has mentioned, SRP is a great allrounder as it has minor polishing particles but also fills the rest of the swirls. So if you...

It's like Christmas tbh. I don't really get the "Christmas excitement OMGZZ" feeling on the 25th any more, but I definitely get a certain buzz from having packages arrive!

I still have a bottle of this in the cupboard and I used the SRP/EGP for quite a while when I first started out. But then again, we have all used the "one sponge, one bucket, one leather" method ;)
