Mate I was reviewing my working life the other day. Worked out that if I charge my normal rate and did 3 days a week, I would earn the same amount I do now in my "9-5". Maybe a little less, but still, f**king worth it...
The other question is, if it's used for cleaning your car once a week and the occasional other job around the garden, why are you spending upwards of £300?
The circa £150 models will suit you down to the ground. I wash 3-4 cars weekly and during my time as a detailer the thing was in use daily...
Karchers over the 3.XX mark can have their motors replaced. I would see what the cost of replacing the motor would be, before looking at another unit.
Our Karcher 3 series has been going for 4 years at least. The ones before that were all cheapo ones, so the motors couldn't be replaced.

The idea is you don't have to rinse the car. So regardless of your car's condition (detailed or not) it means rinse-less washing, which is ideal at shows etc.
