the brake discs do rust! you'll notice it particularly if you haven't driven it for a while/washed the car! it's only a small amount though usually

44mpg is lies tbh, you will get decent mpg but still depends how quick you drive! roughly 40-44 IF you stay @ 65. you'd still be high 30's no doubt with the commuting, average i guess around 35 depending what you do though!
