I would imagine running the car too rich will do damage to the engine yes.. it certainly wont help your fuel enconemy or emmissions..

Yes you can disable them, it tells you how to do it in the handbook, I too dont have a handbook handy, but when you disable them the little lever adjust the intermittent time instead of the sensitivity of the rain sensor. ps. I have never had a problem with the auto wipers, the have always...

I think the petrol is essentialy the same, its the additives which change between suppliers.

Because the mk1s arent Cups they are full featured with all the leather and toys, and they are entitled to ask for whatever they feel their car is worth. If nobody wants to pay that then they can either wait a bit longer or lower the price.
