Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project [Year 3 - Engine and Chassis Rebuild]

Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project There is little motivation at the moment as its all metal work, grinding/cutting/welding/etc. Very boring and takes a lot of time, but it needs to be done before engine/electrics/etc can be started. I think I mentioned previously that the seat bars are...

    DS3000, Carbon Lorraine or Mintex?

Hmmmm, so are they really THAT much better than the others in the title, to justify the higher price? I wish! looking late april/early may at the moment lol. Whats the deal with the RC6, better pad due to being more expensive?

    DS3000, Carbon Lorraine or Mintex?

Ran DS2500s and HC disks all last year, liked them but considering its a 'track only' car, whats worth the extra money for the next step up? DS3000s? Carbon Lorraines? Mintex 1144, or 1177 if you can get them in 172 fitment? Im not bothered about noise or dust really either, just the best...

    dephaser pulley

They were £141 Inc VAT @ Renault when I checked last week... Then you've got the labour to fit it, new cambelt kit, etc.

    dephaser pulley

Mine emits a lovely high pitch squeel when cold (when revved). I thought it was waterpump/tensioner/idler but checked them all and they seem fine. Then when warm just makes the 'rattly dephaser' noise on idle, cant hear it when revved.

    Item identification!

By the time it comes on its probably too late, especially if you're at high RPM. I run a T-Piece out of that hole on the front of the block, one output has the original oil pressure switch (as seen in your picture) and the other output I have fitted an oil pressure sender, which can drive a...
