The crystal stuff I don't know about. But presume it's either a wax or a sealent. Not my choice, would go for Chem Guys Blitz Sealent...

A detail every six months is fine, but shouldn't require paint correction. The word "detail" is such a lose term.
I would suggest a winter prep now, then get someone to detail the car properly, including paint correction, in the spring time, or summer, just in time for shows etc.

Alex. Wash the car, rinse, then spritz the QD over the car. Then dry, ring out, dry, ring out dry until you have done the whole car. If you go back to it you WILL swirl it. That type of mark is easier to correct, but it will still need to be corrected. Leave it until...
