Unfortunatly I didnt have any choice, I had to get to work as I was already 5 minutes late. (it was 9:05am) but I did get a chance to test my heated mirrors for the first time.. which worked like a charm.. there was actually steam commin off the mirrors hehe.

I thought a car had to be legal to be sold from a garage, but I could be wrong. Congrats on the purchase, I got my Mk2 172 also in silver with 5600 miles for 9K.. (but it was private sale) I would ring up and demand some tax anyway, you never know they might appologise and give it to you !

the last one had a small bit about the cliosport day at brands.. near the back of the magazine. That was about it..

And I dont even own a Williams if thats what your thinking ...;) Went out to my car this morning (which was frozen solid) and my temp gauge said -3c :o took me bloody ages to find my ice scraper and scrape the ice off..

This information is great, I will be armed with knowledge when I drop my car off. I will keep you posted on whether they manage to fix it or not, cause it is stopping me from putting my foot down in 1st, and 2nd for that matter... sometimes 3rd and 4th aswell ;)

While it may be true that it is some sort of torque limiting device, I am not taking any chances. Booked in for Wednesday and I will be sure to let you all know how I get on. I will be mentioning to them Simons experience, and for them to contact his dealer if they can find the fault. Also...

In that case its likely to be the indicator stalk on the steering column

Not had any problems with my mk2 172, but the previous owners have had the gearbox and center exhaust section replaced. I have the 172 booked in for Wednesday to have a look at a knocking noise under wheelspin, and my Aircon.. which I think needs re-charged.
