Ali - with regard to the front brakes, they are ap racing 4 pots, they just aren't branded, so no need to buy some four pots for it. The ap branding is on the inside of the back of the caliper (not sure if it is on the mk1, but it is on the mk1) I'm doing my calipers black & i've got yellow ap...

The reason why he wants to do it serarate to the house insurance is so as not to affect the policy, eg claiming etc - he'd rather get his own insurance on it.

I think that phase 2 rear lights are such an improvement over the phase 1's. Maybe get a spoiler for it? (a 172 one or something along those lines) A bit of colour coding & lower it a touch & it'll look spot on, nice & subtle:) - edit, beaten to it.
