I had to drive it from London to Edinburgh, when pulling out from a service station I floored it out and before I was half way down the slip road I was undertaking people on the motorway !

Done that with my GF she agrees and lurves the 172 interior, although currently i have been drivng about in a 1.0l Micra :oops:
Should be quite a bit safer for overtaking, infact i will at last be able to go up hills ;)

:D I like the bit where you say dont drop the sump plug into the oil tray.
Been there, done that.. and yes an arm covered in old warm oil was messy, but kinda nice .. erm nevermind..
only happend to me once in an old astra, my petrol level sender thingy had sunk so it only showed a half tank when it had just been filled up.
eg. use half a tank and it showed empty.. caused a 5 mile taleback on a dual carrageway during rush hour.. ooops.. :oops:
either your 172 is knacked or the 205 was modded,
pug 205 1.9 GTi is 7.8 seconds 0-60
although having owned 2 205 GTis I can vouch for the handling on the twisties, In the 2 years of ownership I NEVER once managed to get the tyres to let go.

The "reserve" tank is the same tank as your current fuel is in, they are one in the same, its just your fuel warning light will tell you when you when you got ~ 5 litres left, all cars are like this to hopefully stop you from running out of fuel
