I feel sorry for the family of the kids that got killed one was only 12.
The adults tho looked like a right pair of objects so are somewhat more deserving.
There not amazing in the cold in fairness mines been sliding around a fair amount recently.
Once it warms up a few degree you will find them much better.
Very roughly 300cm to about a 1m distance so not mega close. Can’t get much closer otherwise the program I use gets confused.
Just to clarify it’s £1000 for the camera and I have a spare £500 for a lense so £1500 all in.

£1000 budget, body only.
Will be used with a 50mm lense for detailed photos of materials so I'm after the best resolution/detail as possible for that budget.
video capabilities would be a bonus but not essential.
Played it a bit more recently, could really do with some more gadgets and vehicles and apart from the starter specializations the rest are pretty rubbish.
Somehow despite my company cutting investment for most things I'm getting a new beast of a cad workstation.

Good luck with it there an absolute nightmare to deal with.
Try and deal with everything in writing otherwise they have a habit of back tracking on the phone.
Christ that case looks ridiculous.
I just use one of those clear silicone cases you can get for a fiver, keeps it tidy and you can still see the phone.
Predicted to shift about 262 million units annually almost half of which will be X models.
so hardly a failure when you consider Samsung equivalents are only predicted to ship about 60 million units.
