Did it have an induction kit, or the standard air box ? i cant comment on a valver with an I/K but mine was standard, with the standard air box & it did not make any high pitched noises at all. Bit of a long shot - did the car have an amp wired up? as if you put the power lead & the earth next...

I always used to get a garage to service my valver - A, i couldnt be asked to change the oil in it etc. B, there was no way i was going to struggle messing about trying the remove the filter. Like most jobs on valvers, removing oil filters are a pain in the arse !

mine used to do it too, it used to proper annoy me. when i had my new engine put in the pump came with it (its too much of a job to take them apart) & the pump i got was fine, so it didnt do it any more.

im sure it works off of the alarm remote, you use the remte to unlock it, then you press the button to pop the door.

24 - i had a mint ph2 valver my dads 58 & he has a flame red mk2 172.

escort cosworth - it wont depreaciate, but they are old now, so finding a minter may be hard. A mk1 v6 clio wont really drop much more either as there not that many of them about, plus they dont make them any more.
