Curtis is AST uk. He doesnt work for powerstation anymore he has taken it on as a separate business.
As Fred says suspesnion is a personal thing. I totaly aggree with his thoughts on them, the turn in just isnt right. Understeer is how they are set up.
But I know some people who dont suffer...
Agree with you there. Ive always spoken to Curtis and told him what I want. Off the shelf they arent right. You know who did there R&D for them tho dont you?
You will have to have a go in ours when its done
Im sure the reason everyone dislikes the AST's is down to the setup of them (spring rates/damper setup etc) They dont suit everybody and I had to chagne the spring rates on mine to get them how I wanted
Shame really
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
A great 'car' that you just use to get around in. very very comfy. Ive spent £12 on mine since I bought it and it passed the mot no probs.
Its also got a massive boot for lugging big chunks of Clio around (mostly what I use mine for)
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Going into the corer with a very small amount of throttle on help when its that slippy, keeps weight on the rear and your quicker to react if it gets away from you
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Ref your slippy slidy video, I shat myself watching it at times, Lol
Did you try letting some air out the rear tyres and soften the suspension at the rear/stiffen the front if you can, you need to give it some understeer in those conditions. Also at first...
Yea the test is really straight forward but costs a fortune. Problem was id never driven Brands before or driven a 230 Megane, it was damp and greasy and the other cars on track were Radicals and Caterhams. Everytime I looked in my mirrors there was a car there.
I just wanted to get through it...
They are a great wheel. perfect size. Mine looked very tired but scrubbed up well.
Dibs on the roof scoop when you decide it looks shite ;)
How much was the scoop anyway?
