Just to clarify 172 cups have a mechanical load aportioning valve above the rear axle. It isnt connected to the axle tho so the rear brakes do very little (Basicly set in the minimum setting) This is why they 'should' fail the mot on efficency (special exemption for them)
Not sure if they add strength tbh. I doubt it seeing as Renault have put poly carbs in the R26R Megane.
If you search on here then H&R are very popular. They have fixed damping and imo are too stiff for the road and too soft for track use. I had them but wasnt that keen on the stock spring...

Olly, welcome!
Loved your Nova bud, read the whole thread after you sent me the link on Youtube. Very impressed and I stole a few of your ideas for my car (AX wiper)
Looking forward to seeing what you can make of this car
if you had stiffer rear springs you could then stiffen the front more, thats why im getting new springs for the rear.
Probably depends how you drive/like a car to behave. Me and Tony appear to like a loose rear end that helps you chuck the front in.
I ended up with full stiff on rear and 6...
Mine was 181.3bhp/156.8lbf @ GDI
and
183.7bhp/157.7lbf @ powerstation
Andy/Bex RSI was 184bhp (iirc) on their rollers
and
180.9bhp @ powerstation with a little lower toruqe figure, so not much in it
Both cars run within a few weeks on the rollers with nothing changed in between
Yea go carefull, as bmh says they can oversteer a little.
(Not had it on a clio but drove a golf that wanted to swap ends all the time due to shot rear dampers)
