    Best Tyres for my 172

all a matter of opinion what tyres are best. just make sure you get quality brand stuff. DONT get cheap tyres, steer clear of yokahama prada if they are just for the road. imo pe2 & conti are good, expensive but you get wha you pay for

    Anyone got AST coilovers?

Yes they are mine. Personaly I like the way they drive. Ive driven two 1*2's fitted with them. Ive only driven my car a short distance with them on and they are not set up in anyway. Loads of weird wheel angles atm. Booked in for a full setup on the 1st. They ride very well for coilovers and...

    Anyone got AST coilovers?

Espcialy the back, underrsteer city! Too hard for B roads, too soft for track imo. Waste of time having them. Thinking back now my car was better on the apex springs and 100k shocks. Im AST'd up and now happy as tramp in a resturants bin

    Oil filter?

A lot of new cars use a paper style element now. It cuts down on servicing costs coz you aint throwing away a big lump of metal everytime.

Blown ECU fuse & immobiliser issue.

Probably not much help but anyway You would need to look at a wiring diagram to find out what sensors/components that fuse feeds. The trace back from there to check if the wiring is chaffed anywhere. As for the immobiliser ive seen this on 1.2's when the battery has gone flat, they wont...

trackday killed the engine - ideas please

worth checking the timing by the sounds of it. You wont need the tools to do a quick check. Just take the blanking caps out and line up the tdc mark on the gearbox/flywheel. If its out more than a little you will see it by eye. As you say if its holding a presur at a certain ponit then maybe...
