If you can get hold of a set of Torx wrenches, just remove all the ones you can see around the plenum. I think there's around ten in total.
If the metal security box is removed, that's the hard part done.
Yes, there's a metal box around the electronics firstly... which is a cnut to get off!
Then you have to remove the whole plastic inlet plenum.
Not too hard though, if you know your stuff.
EDIT - FPMSL @ the picture! Good job.
Good luck with that.
The TB is awkward to get to on those engines. It's inside a plastic plenum at the back. what size was this cloth?
I'm still LOLing by the way. A Cloth!
Why would you do that?
Filters are designed to FILTER. Clothing is not.
If anything, the cloth would have been more restrictive! Let alone being a stupid fcuking idea.
A cloth over your inlet?! WTF. I'm unsure of what you mean by covering the inlet, but taking that out of the equation...
9/10 this is an electronics problem. You have no cable as it's a fly-by-wire throttle. It's going to be either the pedal or the throttle body itself.
Mine was the throttle...
Mayeb i should have said "...if you're not British"
World-wide sales and cult status don't go hand-in-hand.
In fact, it makes the car more of a cult car if it's rare!
And a Lotus Talbot Sunbeam is a strange choice if you're Japanese.
Different countries have different icons. They're both equally valid as cult cars though.
