Clio 4 RS VS Fiesta ST EcoBoost

I have to say if there was, I'd have that over the 3. Are there many reputable 'specialists' out there Roy?

    Timing belt changed too early?

They're made of rubber which perishes which is why you change them based on age OR mileage.

Clio 4 RS VS Fiesta ST EcoBoost

I agree. Power wise, ultimate spec wise, handling wise, they're as good as identical. Price wise? They're leagues apart (driven by the technology I know). Ability of the manufacturer to organise a pi** up in a brewery? Again, they're leagues apart. This is what's most convinced me to move...

Clio 4 RS VS Fiesta ST EcoBoost

Circa £1,500 discount is what I'm seeing, but I've had variations of £750 on my 200 as a part-ex.

Clio 4 RS VS Fiesta ST EcoBoost

That's plenty. 200bhp/ton is enough for me on any road and track I know. Just had an interesting call from an online discount retailer...the deal I was looking at is getting better and better!

Clio 4 RS VS Fiesta ST EcoBoost

I like the fact that despite everything saying it only has 180bhp or so, in reality, it has 200bhp pretty much all the time, whenever you need it. And it only weighs 1,100 kgs. If it is screwed together only half as well as my 51 plate 1.6 Zetec Focus was, it will be light years ahead of...

Fiesta forums? Which one/ones (if any) are recommended?

Clio 4 RS VS Fiesta ST EcoBoost

I mean my decision to stray from the RenaultSport brand seems like it may pay dividends. Off to a dealer tomorrow morning to hopefully place an order. Anyone know what sort of lead times currently apply on these? Edit: A month? Oooooh...that'll be better the the 4RS...I'll be hugely surprised...

Interesting. Looks like I may have made the right decision after all.

    Who will be/is Buying a 200T

Relatively speaking...it does. Mine pulls cleanly from tickover to limiter as well, but calling it lethargic until it sees >5k would be kind.

    Who will be/is Buying a 200T

Not fussed about out and out pace...will certainly be fast enough to make progress on my commute. May well give a tenth or two away to the 200T but, umm, who cares?! I think a Focus would be as economic as my 200, but a driving factor behind my change is wanting something that'll see nearer...

    Too big. Not economical enough.

    Who will be/is Buying a 200T

This is what's really hurting me. Put one alongside an ST with a comparable spec and the price difference is too big to ignore.

    Who will be/is Buying a 200T

If I didn't have to wait 6-7 weeks for the Clio to appear I would. Also, I'm not sure I can bear the pain of trying to get a test drive from my local alleged RS specialist that had absolutely no idea whatsoever that he could start selling them yesterday. Also, the thought of owning a car with a...

    Who will be/is Buying a 200T

I am. Well I might. I'm not sure. Grrr. The Fiesta ST financially makes a very strong argument for itself as an alternative..as in a £4k argument that I can't ignore. Reports seem to say it's a pretty tidy package. Only negatives for me are 3 doors. All else is on a par with or preferred over...

CLIO IV RS - Trophy from page 111

FFS. Spent most of the morning looking at Fiesta STs. I'm almost at the point where I'm convincing myself I could handle 3-doors for my next car, and with them available with discounts (unlike the Clio as far as I can tell so far) there's a lot to be said for them. Argh.

Slippers? No. Would quite like a pair though. The 'launch' itself has been comical, from start to end.

Update on this, Jeremy Townsend called the 'dealer' and pointed him in the right direct (i.e. told him he's a r****d). The dealer now can start discussing prices etc. apparently.

Is the published combined figure of 34mpg on the current 200 overly optimistic? Most would say it is, but that is exactly what I've averaged over my ownership (27k miles so far). So why wouldn't I also hit the combined figure in the new car assuming my commute stays the same?

CLIO IV RS - Trophy from page 111

Is it really radically different though? Compared to the last one; It has 5 doors...perfect with 10 and 5 year old kids in tow. It has a turbo charged engine that can give 45mpg. That'll make me a true man according to Roy and makes the accountant in me very happy. It has an EDC 'box. The...
