I did a similar thing albeit 12+ years ago, and went for a year.
My advice - sort the big flights in and out and everything else can be done there, either on sleeper trains, overnight buses or small domestic/international flights.
Also, don't make too many plans, just have some rough ideas and...
Don't 197 cams give more power at the top end but in doing so they sacrifice torque? Dan at SJM would be a good person to ask - he has personal experience of the RS2 with 197 cams and he can map so could be another option or at least someone to chat with about options, pros and cons.
@McDrfitin - any reason why you couldn't use a Mobius dashcam, for example? Plugged into a power source in the home, 32GB memory card, could even set it to be triggered to record based on motion-detection I think.
It sounds like you think all engines go pop at 120k, and I don't think that's the case. You could put one in on 80k and it could do another 100k with regular maintenance, maybe 200k, who knows?!
The question I'd be asking is how many standard engines fail that haven't seen consistently heavy...
If I was in your position I'd take the cheaper and easier option of sourcing an engine with history and getting some of the friendly folk on CS to make the magic happen. I'm not sure what you could do to improve its reliability when fitted but the chances of it going bang again have to be very...
Rears are a waste of time, unless you want to provide your backseat passengers with a good aural experience.
Get a decent head unit, amp under one seat driving some quality components up front then an underseat sub under the other seat. Job done.
If that doesn't give enough 'boom' then your...
Why don't replica spoilers need shorter struts whereas if you put the standard struts on a Trophy it would damage the spoiler? Are they dimensionally different?
Piggybacking on this thread - for everyone who has fitted Brembos, would you do so again knowing what you know now? In your opinion are the benefits tangible and worthwhile?
Cheers mate, I'm currently away on the south coast - family holiday. Andy has been sorting a few bits and then it should be back to its best and ready for another lap of Wales in a few weeks.
How's you and yours? I can't keep up with whether it's coming or going ;)
I have H&R spacers bought from Venom Motorsport I think. They're either 20 or 25mm and bolt directly to the hub.
The PMS studs are then secured to the spacers with Loctite.
Makes swapping wheels so much easier, and I have a real penchant for doing so. My favourite current set are ET43...
Worked fine before the software upgrade then just stopped. I tried doing an update in case that brought it back to life but it didn't.
I tried a HU reset today but that didn't work either.
Tried a different phone on an old iOS plus a brand new Apple cable today but no joy. Will be contacting...
Contact the dealer and see if they'll make any goodwill gesture.
Failing that I'd try and source a replacement engine and get it in there.
I'd be gutted if it happened to me but it's not as severe a situation as it probably feels, it can be recovered.
Yep, tried a soft reset, tried the iPad, a different Lightning cable, updating to the very latest iOS.
I'm going to buy a brand new cable from an Apple Store today so I can at least rule that out.
Anyone else experienced anything similar?
Clio 182 with an Alpine CDA-117ri head unit connected to an iPhone5 on the very latest iOS and using a genuine Apple Lightning cable, but no sound is being output in the car.
Track and artist info is displayed on both the HU and the dash screen, and...
