Must refrain from making an inappropriate joke about an AMV8 driver enjoying spit roasts.
I'll keep it in my head this time, that way I'll get away with it.
Edit: D'oh!!
This guy fitted my camber bolts when he did my set-up a while back, another recommendation here.
Going from the guy's website, Jamie, it looks like he uses a Supertracker system.
The boot carpet isn't stuck down at all, it's only secured under the brackets for the harnesses and by being a good fit. It's worth investing the time to make good templates so that you do get a snug fit.
Cheers Paul, nice of you to say mate.
If you were doing yours then, you'd use Cquartz, and would you add a coat or two of wax on top, or would you only apply wax after 6 months, almost like a top-up?
Absolutely! Anything is an option, I'm just after advice on whether Crystal Rock is worth the premium over AG HD, or whether CPS Ceramishield Pro is the way forward, or any other specific products you can think of?
Feates - my advice would be to take the bull by the horns. Decide on a specific date, time & meeting location, post up the details and see how it goes from there. You'll get nowhere fast if you wait for people to post up when they can/can't do.
What are the top three very best off-the shelf wax/sealants to use on my Trophy? It's going in for a proper clean up by Detail My Car and I'm after some advice from you guys, especially gally, on what works well with Capsicum.
Buy a fair one for £4.5k, track it, have fun in it, then sell for a fair amount.
Buy a dog, have to spend loads of money on things that keep going wrong, then have difficulty selling it on. No thanks.
I'd be very wary of a DIY cambelt change, they require specialist tools to be done right. I'd much rather find one that had been carried out by an experienced RenaultSport specialist.
Thanks for linking that thread Danny, that's really interesting to see what you CAN buy.
Kangoosport - You'll know, assuming the F4R in the Kangoo is proper job, because you'll have that direct comparison. If it feels like it's missing a third of its power then it's time to walk.
If you are...
In that case it's plain as day for me. Turbocharge the Kangoo and turn it into a super-sleeper, then use the Trophy as the weapon it was made to be - on fast-road and track!
Get it rolling roaded, but that's massive overkill if you ask me. That's the only way to find out how strong the engine really is. It's a 182 though, it will be there or thereabouts, you're unlikely to get one with 130bhp!
Those wheels!!!!!! :D
I'm surprised how little presence it has from the front, perhaps the colour softens it a little? But wow, what a car, and what a noise. Love it! Enjoy it.
I don't know what everyone's problem is with the guy's business sense. He sells things at ridiculously high prices - if you don't like it, don't buy it.
It's one of the most basic concepts of economics - supply & demand. If someone out there buys his products at the price he advertises them...
