The only alternative to a sub afaik is a set of 3way 6x9's which you could fit into a stealth shelf and they can produce a decent amount of bass but they will need to be amplified. Don't expect amazing sound without a sub or an external amp though.

A little yes and it will make the wheels look a little wider too and a tiny bit more grip I suppose but your not gonna notice that to be fair.

They shouldn't be rubbing on the rears, little clearance yes but as they don't rotate it isn't a problem, the fronts will need 5mm spacers.

Build a false floor and you can get acoustic carpet from ebay for fairly cheap then get a staple gun with 1/2" staples to fix it to the wood, jobs a good'n.
