It will feel faster, as the power all comes in one big shove, then it tails off where as the clio is spread pretty evenly till 6k. In reality it wont be any quicker untill you up the boost etc.
vauxhall and vw fit, but as mentioned, the centre bores are different sizes, but you can get spiggott rings from places like demon tweeks to overcome this (cheap too)
also bare in mind et (offset too!!)
CUP/CTR then imo. When i'm changing mine, i'll either get a (slower ;) ) 182 as they are newer, or a facelift CTR in black or grey ;)
You wont get an induction 'roar' on any turbo car, as its forced induction. You will get a little 'flutter' on throttle lift off... this will be the...
yes, thats true of any turbo car :), but maybe he doesnt want to mod it, and if thats the case i'd go for a CUP/CTR. If its a UK wrx or classic, you'll be dissapointed, heavy, slow (for what they are) and thirsty etc
My mate bought a scoob (import WRX) comming from a cammed vts saxo, sold it with two months of it being on the road. Said it was boring to drive, and not as chuckable. Straight line speed aint everything, and a cup will be pretty even with all uk 208-218 bhp imprezas......
wont be much to sort imo, wack a new set of ebaich pro lines (£140)+ dampers (£200) on to sharpen up the handling, new rear wheel bearing £30 ish..... plus fitting (they are part of the rear disk, so will need pressing out)
job done?
what sort of mileage is it on?
dampers and springs will always lose their effectiveness (sp) over the years. Might be time for H&R's like you say, but even a new set of dampers and some ebaich prolines will do wonders (fubar did this)
1. Might be the other wheel bearing ;) . Mine have been fine, had the discs and bearings replaced @45 thou, but i'm on 68k now and these are ok
2. Clutches are stiff lol, took a good month to get used to mine, very off/on
3. Gear shift may be improved with a gearbox oil change imo, mine is ok
4...
cut grill for you then!!!
yeah its not unheard of, the only way it can be opened is by hacking the black grill bit open, and accessing the cath that way :(
