£900 is madness. I gave my BG with 133k away for £2,000 because the belts needed doing and could have sold it 10 times over. It was a very good car in great condition. It was sold on shortly after with the belts done for over 4k. Lesson learned. Don’t be that guy.
I’m not familiar with them to be honest, but having a quick look at their Facebook page, the majority of the work seems to be cavity waxing and underseal. That’s something you can easily do yourself.
I’d only give mine to a restoration company where fabrication was a requirement.
How bad is...
I’ve had Avon ZV7 on my 182 and they’re ok but not an all rounder like the PS3. I often hear the term old design in relation to the Michelin but these are also old cars and very sensitive to changes. Tyre choice makes a massive difference on these cars. You can get away with sticking anything on...
My mates have the 250 Cup and it’s really good. Both have high performance Audi and BMW cars but love driving it. I’d definitely consider one of those or a 265 once the old girl goes the journey. A 200 just doesn’t inspire me. I’d rather go back to an N or perhaps a GTi or GTD Golf. The logical...
I've been driving MK2 182 Clios to work for 5 years. My RB is fully restored with new genuine parts, except for the exhaust. It's factory, comfortable, and great for long distance business meetings. Insurance is £17/month, averaging 35 mpg. Road tax is £32/month. Consider a factory 182 Trophy...
That’s precisely why things need replacing. I’m not suggesting throwing a parts cannon at an old car when there’s no need, but there were 3 things I never changed on my RB Resto.
1. PAS pump - It used to whine slightly but functioned perfectly well. I also had the opportunity when the engine...
Most car enthusiasts these days prefer following social media trends or quick information rather than learning hands-on or seeking advice from experts.
They are a marketer's dream.
It makes sense to stand on a hill, watch a kid in a Clio winning races in a novice championship, and then...
Recently fitted a pair of PS3s on my 182 – ancient tyres, for an ancient car, but they perform exceptionally well. Had Continental PC 6 and PS4 on my Proceed GT; both were excellent.
Tried Yokohama, Kumho, and Avon on the 182, but nothing felt right. As soon as you meddle with the factory...
I assume you’re wanting an unmolested one?
A few pop up every now and then but you’ve really got to watch what you’re buying. Underbody corrosion is an issue now. Some genuine parts are NLA, some aftermarket parts are NLA. So be prepared to restore some second hand parts.
I bought mine 2...
My new car which I bought a few months back after flogging the old one.
I’ve been squirrelling away parts to convert it for circuit use as it’s previously been dancing in Hillclimbing Championships.
It hasn’t been fully stripped out like my old one, which is something I prefer, and has a...

Although the nut on mine was so rusty it rounded off and was just spinning. I was hoping to loosen the bolt just enough so I could grind the head off the bolt. No luck in my case. It’s at this point things started to get bodgy. Engine out 🤦🏻♂️
