A few hundred quid to buy it and a few hundred to pay someone to fit it for you. Certainly a lot cheaper than buying a new car and you can sell your 1.2 engine and get some money back off of that.
This is a nooby question but what is this part as I am thinking of getting them replaced, too rusty for my liking, or is it just part of the rear axle?
I've read somewhere that you have to disconnect it for about half an hour to do that I just disconnected it for a few minutes whilst I cleaned all the gunk off of it, then re-connected.
The problem is still there however as it has done it again since doing this but is not as bad as before.

Just reset the battery and cleaned all the gunk off of the negative terminal and replaced the immobiliser fuse.
Just trial started it a couple of times and both times it fired up and sat at just over 1k rpm.
So fingers crossed now and hope the problem doesn't come back.
