The 172 has the WORST tyres ever on it. And the knock when turning means that it has never been pushed around a corner yet. The 1.4 handles really well. Keeps up with my Mk1 on coilovers (for a bit) :p
2 cars. One for winter, 1 for summer its the way forward. Almost bought my corsa back but then relised that the guy was wanting more than i sold it for, considering i made 200 profit from it, i just left it.
The 172 has a few "niggles" which i have been trying (and failing) to sort. Its in teh garage just now hetting an exhaust fitted on and off to get lazer tracked on Wed.
The 1.4 is more fun to drive. You cna really throw it into a corner and it will just stick (good suspension and tyres) the...

You had'nt sold a car. I really wish i kept my corsa. Wasnt all that much but i think i did well on a small bugdget. 60mm drop on springs and shocks, Gsi interior, 2.0 16v brakes, debaged all round, de rubbing stripped, Vectra handles.
Any body wish they had kept a car???

Looking good mate, only a couple of things i would do. Clear side reps, lowered, remove the stickers and should look great. Rsi skirts and colour coded bumpers woucl look sweet too .
Right was lowering a friends Mk2 172 tonight. Got most of it done till the drivers front shock, the allen key burst inside the top of the strut.
Ideas on how to get it out. Its alos turned a little inside it so its kind of wedged,
