the car being just as fast as normal is because the superchip will do pretty much nothing that the standard ecu doesnt already do, theres not really much optimisation in modern ecu maps especially on performance tuned cars like the 172/182

Well do small things that are cheap/free.
Get rid of all the stick on stuff like the coach line and other stickers, that will smooth it all up a bit.
Get clear side repeaters, only cost about £15-20.

You can buy just the shock yes. G-max and the like sell them on there own. Looking at maybe £100-150, but not 100% sure on the cost.
I had 55mm drop springs on standard shocks for over a year and a half. Ride was low but very bouncy, also didnt handle all that well.

You would be advised to uprate the shocks, but the springs will fit without new ones. The handling wont be amazing, and it will reduce the life of the shocks.
