oil filter and sump nut washer will be available from motorfactors or halfords
u may need a filter removal tool as i seem to recall its a bit tight down there, and you'll probably have to remove the fuel rail cover too but thats only 2 bolts
just remember to fill the new filter with oil before fitting it, letting the oil pump fill the filter is rather nasty for the motor due to the amount of oil it takes
any good quality fully synthetic oil will work just fine, as long as its 5w40
does the engine have individual coil packs?
if not a faulty coil wouldnt cause those symptoms and no others (you;d be on 2 cyls if it was a wasted spark setup and it would die completely if it was a single coil setup...
50-60mm is usually whats needed to get the wheels nicely in the arch on a mk1, just pay close attention to your tyre size/profile or you'll be catching the arches
trade account at my local factors and www.buypartsby.co.uk both offer similar pricing, and their brake parts are either delphi or mintex, both of which ive had no problems with to date
why dont you phone around your local motorfactors
buypartsbuy.co.uk seem pretty good on prices without a trade account so give them a ring and ask for a price on a caliper
front disks are about £15ea and pads about £25-30
rear disks are about £10ea and pads for the back about £20
i'd never pay main dealer prices for anything for that exact reason
disk and pad change on the front is an hours work tops
same for the rear
they're wanting £600 quid for £100 worth...
I would love one, the only problem is that the weave gets darker at either side where i think it joins, that puts me off. Would set my wheels off a treat though :)
