New-Car-Discount.com got it from a dealer in Bradford, then I think it was taken to Stockport, before being driven to me (by a 60 something year old thankfully..."ooh, its a bit firm innit") in Hampshire, hence the 300 miles.
The ECU? How could I not get one? Its insurance and warranty...
The First Week…
Well, the Cup finally arrived last Friday, but true to form I had to wait at work, in the freezing cold until 6:30pm before the delivery driver finally showed up (it was meant to arrive in the morning…but then it was meant to have arrived during the second week of September...
EXACTLY the same for me...but I couldnt ignore the part-ex theyre giving me for my Mondeo so Ive just had to ride out the wait (for the last 18 f***ing weeks!!!!!):(
You got yours OK then...nice one Lagerlout.
Im sat here at work...all on my own at the moment...waiting for my Cup that was supposed to have been delivered this morning...these New Car Discount.com people can really f*** you around!
Better go check outside and see if its here yet......
...sleep at night when you know your new Cup is going to be delivered this coming Friday morning!!!!!!
Four months of hard work and nothing in the way of information from New Car Discount.com...but theyve come good in the end :D
Have they let you know your delivery date yet?
Just spoken to them and Lynsey is "in a meeting"...hopefully Ill get a call before 5pm, if not Ill go home to sulk!
Give them a call...this morning they said theyve got a big batch of Cups in...could be that yours is in there somewhere too!
Got my reg. no. now...just got to wait for the delivery date/time then Ill sort out my insurance.
Ive also booked a couple of days off at the back-end of next week so...
Just spoken to New Car Discount.com and my Cup was delivered to their dealer today...I get a reg. no. tomorrow morning to sort out the insurance, and all going well (hope, hope) I should have the Cup on my drive by Wed/Thu next week.
Its been a very painful wait...I ordered it back in...
I could do with knowing this too.
Splitter and badges are the obvious two, not sure about mats and net, didnt think the Cup came with them. Puncture repair foam is another essential.
Anyone else?
Im with you aledw...the only thing Ive come across that could be tailor-made to mimic the OE exhaust so far is Powerflow, and from what Ive heard buying from them is a bit of a lottery.
Just received from NCD.com...
Good Morning Mark
The 18th November still stands for the cars arrival, with regards to delivery if all goes well (Ive got all my fingers and toes crossed) then yes It will be either Friday next week or Monday of the following week.
Hope to speak to you soon...
Now what Im in at the moment drinks like theres no tomorrow...the fuel light is normally on before 300 miles and its gasping come 330...and this is with a 60 litre tank.
What size is the 172/Cups tank, and how far do you get during normal driving (normal being a mix of motorway, A/B-roads, and...
^^^ LOL!
Got a friend to phone up NCD.com this morning enquiring about getting a Cup from them...no part-ex or finance needed, to see if they were just pi$$ing me about because theyd guaranteed the value of my Mondeo which is now worth way less than theyre going to give me for it.
She was...
The trouble for me in getting a used one is that Id need to find a private buyer for my Mondeo. Ive had it advertised at a (IMO) reasonable price since I placed my order, and so far Ive not taken even a single call for it. I think the trouble is that most people that have a budget of approaching...
Im not buying it from a Renault dealer...its coming from New-Car-Discount.com. As for cancelling my order, I really dont want to do that...they agreed at the time I placed the order that they would honour the price they offered me against my Mondeo until I took delivery. As its been four months...
£500 deposit paid back in July...theyve been very apologetic so far about the delays so if I did decide to get something else I dont think Id have a problem at all getting it back.
Gonna wait for the new one to arrive...the pain of seeing one every day on my way to work is almost unbearable...
I asked him where they got it, and they said it came from the local Renault dealer. Now Ive thought about it, it was really rough as f***...the gaitor round the gear leaver was hanging off, and it fealt really well used.
Think Ill hang on a week or two (or maybe a few days!):)
Still waiting for my "new" Cup to be delivered and still waiting for confirmation of when its going to get to me...a***!
Then this morning, at an independant dealer just down the road from where I work, theyve got a 52 reg Cup with 4k on it. Went to see it at lunch and all seems sound...they...
Right, thanks for that...Im convinced.
Every fibre of my body says "get a specific policy" but the rest of me says "save it for a Magnex"...I think the Magnex is gonna win.
Remember that as far as faults go, if you get a fault within six months of taking delivery, in the eyes of the law, that fault is deemed to have existed at the time of sale. The burden is on the supplying dealer/company to prove that the fault did not exist when it was sold.
Tell em to change...
I guess the excess on track insurance would be very high too >£1,000?
Mike - dont you worry that you might over do it and end up without a car cause you binned it into a tyre wall?
Rob - have you been to Castle Combe? I was talking to a guy that races Formula Renault and he was saying...
Ive got a track day at Castle Combe to book up some time before June 04 and was wondering what, if anything, people do regarding their insurance?
Ive read that unless theres a specific exclusion on your normal policy, as youd not be racing or timing on the day, conventional insurance should...
I think its to do with the fact that there is so little friction with fully synthetic, that it stops the engine "bedding in" properly. So with a new engine its better to stick with a lower grade oil so that all the surfaces can mate together...once thats done (and it should be by 12,000) move to...
Im probably going to go pick mine up when it finally gets here...if it means I get it a day or two earlier. Plus, I dont have to worry about some monkey ragging it silly, kerbing alloys etc.
Trouble is its 270 miles and 5 hours away...the drive back will be worth it though!!!
