Yeah, I got very bored and worked out the power to weight ratios.
Load of shite. I'm glad I went for a 182cup back in the day. Drove the same, looked the same, cost me less.
Stripped out road racer? You'd cry if you sat in a 205 if you think a cup is a stripped road racer lol.
The 172cup was a sportier version of the 172. But people like cs asked for the suspension option on the normal version. So since then the cup has been a 'value' model of the normal car...
Reason for not having then is that take up across the range (ie not just the 197) was low for the mk3's. No point in developing the headlight units, self levellers, and washer jets for such a low take up.
Easily remedied though. Spec the cornering lights option and you get projector lenses...
Doesn't change the fact that he'll be able to enjoy the noise and small power gain, not to mention the great quality. Then sell of for little or no loss. Can't knock it in that respect.
I'd usually agree. But come selling time it'll still be worth a damn good chunk of that £850. And they sound incredible, as well as the power.
They are proper bits of kit.
Sure most know about this. Side of the airbox there's a small rubber bung that you can remove. Below it are several small perforations in the airbox. Removing the bung gives the car a nice induction growl.
Now forgive me if I'm being dense, I don't understand induction etc at all. But would...
I'd get the ARB on the standard springs, then see if you need to go further. Or if you really want coilovers, sacrifice a track day and get some H&R's or Bilsteins.
2 massively different cars. Would depend on the type of driving you do. Although I do think the R26r would be a bit of a one trick pony, and the Vee has more strings to its bow.
Assuming we're talking ph2 vee, ph1 vee it would be the megane everytime.
