Have a look on Ebay , Gumtree and Pistonheads . Prices are on the rise for 182's , pushing £3k and more for alot higher mileage than yours . Just 3 examples ...

I saw that one befoere . The 7 owners would put me off , but that's just me . Not everbody is put off by alot of owners .

Mine hasn't done it since Monday , but it's constantly been doing it for the past 4 or 5 weeks and it's always worse when the temperature is hot . As you know today and the last couple of days it's been alot cooler . I just nipped out and checked it now and it's quiet . Is yours doing it all...

You're doing the right thing , perservering and not just buying the first one that catches your eye . I've seen a few horror stories on here over the years of somebody buying one and 2 days later , bang , the engines let go . This is why I'm always sceptical about cars that's had a high number...

RB is a pretty sought after colour tbh . They seem to come up for sale less often than say Silver for instance. Once cleaned , polished etc ....... they look stunning

Is it a big job changing the steering rack bushes , timewise and cost ?

Springs are definitely ok , i had the wheels off a couple of weeks ago to change the brake pads and bleed the brakes . The nise was there before I changed the pads . I think the top mounts are ok , but can't be 100% sure .

Yeah everything is stock suspension . It's been embarrassangly loud . It's been doing it for a good 4 weeks or so , while the weather has been warm / hot and dry . The last 2 days with the temperature being alot lower and it being wet the noise has completely gone .

Don't forget to add 2nd most desireable colour after Arctic Blue :tonguewink:

Just recently with this hot dry weather we've been having I've noticed that theres hell of a creaking sound when turning the steering wheel. It's clearly noticeable , espcially inside the car when stationary and turning the steering wheel. It sounds like some old rusty hinge that needs oiling...

Ahhhhhh right . I see . You're probably going to be a long way from most that are for sale . Black Gold has a Gold/Bronze shimmer to it under the Black itself. Silvers probably the most common colour that you'll come across . Also try and get good interior pics as there can be some very untidy...
