I got my original recall letter back in 2008 and just ignored it , i've always kept it well lubricated myself . I got another letter on Thursday saying take it to a dealership immediately . So i bit the bullet this time and rang up and booked it in . The corrective action might only actually be...
Personally i'd steer clear . The seller also sold a 2003 plate 172 in June of last year . " Maybe " ( this is just my suspicious mind ) it's an accident repaired car , he repairs the odd car to sell on ?? I've just got a bad feeling about this advert , other than the poor grammar . Lots of...
Different in what way ? These are xenons in the pics . And the white adjusters are what i used to adjust mine . These adjusters are for up and down . I think there " might " be 2 more adjusters for side to side adjustment ? I can't remember off the top of my head now .
Why are they a tw4t to get to ? Adjust them with the white adjusters using an allen key . Don't quote me on this , it's been some years since i adjusted mine , but i'm pretty sure you have to adjust them with the ignition in the on position , if you don't they re-adjust themselves as soon as you...
I've had my Arctic Blue 182 since new , back in February 2006 . From my knowledge there were only about 10 unregistered 182's in the UK back then . It's on a 55 plate , if i'd left it a couple more weeks it would have been one of the very few 06 plate 182's . And i still love driving it just as...
Another vote for Uniroyal Rainsport 2's from me . That's what i'm been running on my 182 . They're easily as good as the Michelin PE2's , especially in the wet . You can get them fitted for about £75 a corner .
Have you got the rubber covers on properly on the back of the lights ? I took mine off and couldn't get it back on properly cos my hands are too big to fit down behind the drivers side light , i got some condensation and pissed about with a hairdryer and a tube , that didn't work . I managed in...
Do you know anyone with small hands ? i.e. a small child , nephew , niece , bros or sis . Don't just go asking random kids or you might start to get known locally as " Jimmy Saville " and get stones thrown at you and your house petrol bombed lol ;)
Well said  . Cliosport is unbelievable at times . I see it all too often that someone will make a comment on a product , sl4g it off or recommend a product that they actually have no physical knowledge of but yet they're all too willing to give their opinions on . It really does beggar...
Either get yourself a Green air filter cleaning kit or get some Autoglym Engine and Machine cleaner , spray it liberally all over the outside of the filter , let it dwell a while then rinse out under a tap from the inside . Let it dry , then reoil it with some Green air filter oil .
It's not often i would read a thread this long from start to finish , but i have . You've done a cracking job there mate , lots and lots of hard work bringing your car back to its best and it's certainly paid off looking at the pics . I take my hat of to ya , well done :D Best colour for a 182...
I don't want to piss on your chips mate . But if it's an old battery and it's fully discharged , even after jump starting the engine and taking it for a good drive , it " might " not hold a charge again . You might be looking at a new battery . I had this happen to me back end of last year ...
Thats the first thing i noticed when i got my first 172 , how heavy the clutch was so was used to it when i got my 182 . Also how heavy the steering is . To be honest i prefer a heavier clutch and steering . I hate over assisted power steering that you can literally move with one finger , it...
Never been on the track so can't comment . For the road in the wet and dry they really do instill confidence when pushing on . The only thing i can say about the Rainsports is that the tyrewalls do seem a little bit softer , so i upped the pressure to 36 psi which made alot of difference . You...
The Continentals when i got my first 172 lasted 7500 miles . Replaced with Toyo T1-S's which lasted about 8000 miles , replaced with T1-R's , same about 8000 miles ( God knows why when i never really liked the S's , i think it was the price that swayed me at the time ) Michelin PE2's last about...
I've seen lots of good reviews of the DS2500'S , then i've seen people say they've had them fall apart and like dan says , they're not exactly cheap . Also seen people say Mintex 1144's are crap , which i'm currently using and have been for 18 months . Personally , i've never had a problem with...
You could get just a blade cut , but that won't disarm the immobiliser . It'll only let you open the door via the doorlock , you'd need a new plip programmed to the car . Thats the expensive part like you say . Your Clifford fob will only arm and disarm your alarm . Also there's no difference in...
Maybe they will . I'm just saying when i used them on my Pug , must be about 13 ish years ago now i never had a problem with them . Never faded and the fact they produced bugger all brake dust was a bonus . I've never used them since so couldn't comment on how they perform today . They do get...
I used to use Greenstuff on my Pug 306 S16 donkeys years ago and really rated them . Never used to fade and almost no brake dust on the wheels . I'm guessing they've changed the compound as they always get slated on here .
I had that problem when i took the rubber off the back on the drivers side and couldn't get it to seat back on properly .I used a Hair dryer with a tube attached , it just blew the moisture about a bit . In the end i left it and it just disappeared naturally over a couple of weeks .
Personally after owning a 172 without TC and a 182 with , i think they're both crap cars in the snow , especially once it's compacted and frozen . I've driven in deep and compacted snow in Poland with Winter tyres a few times and they were amazing , it was as if i was driving on normal roads ...
When you start your car the TC / ESP is automatically on by default , the light on the dash is off . You want to turn the TC off before you set off ? Or am i reading this wrong ? If so , just turn it off before you actually drive away , the light on the dash will come on . Bobs your Uncle .
I had this a couple of months ago . Drove fine , parked up at the supermarket . Got back in the car and wouldn't start , couldn't lock the door . Also Immobiliser light was flashing . Turned out the battery was dead . Never had any indication it was gonna die . Got my mate to call out the RAC on...
