nice, ive always prefered 172s to 182s just prefer the wheels and dont like the twin exhausts on the 182. if i ever get one it will be a late 172

yep you have seen R5 engines with 300BHP look at BBPT's 172 turbo its 280BHP i think and can be pushed further with a better gearbox iirc the R5 engine is very old and unreliable if not looked after. you say a 172 should have more power (standard) but a standard R5 GGT has what 120bhp?

seen a 172 cup in Stirling with reg playes with a Wales flag at the start of them, had a twin round back box on it seen it when i was on my driving lesson i drifted over lanes and nearly hit it on a roundabout because i was to busy looking for CS stickers on it :o :D anyone from here?

mine rubs the arch liners when you throw it into a corner -60mm on 15s so with any lowering at all on 18s id say arch liners must go!

LOL thats brilliant the jap guy that nearly gets run over by his own car. same here mate thats the reason i gave it up couldnt afford it! the cost of tyres and cost of repair when i smashed it! went electric for a year though and that was still just as fun and A LOT cheaper

my 1.2 16v idles at about 500rpm and it doesnt feel as smoth as it does when its cold and idles at say 600-1500rpm

thing with the renault engines is not every 172 makes the 172bhp or ps or what ever it is so you will get full fats that are faster than cups and cups that are faster than full fats etc (same driver, conditions etc) so its all down to driver really

ahh right maby not then i just thought with the doors being the same and people using MK1 172 interiors in their cars that they fitted maby needs a bit of modding

depends on the phase 1 model as some didnt have electric windows where all (i think) phase 2s did colours will be different likely yes

dont need a new car to have a new engine ;) my D4F 16v has done 118,000 miles in 3 years with only the coil pack failing. needed a new clutch at 116,000 but thats expected with this millage.

so its possible but fuk paying £100 for it!
