I know, it makes no sense!
The new policy that Adrian Flux quoted mirrored the no claims as I was already insured with them, and they would only mirror 7 years so when the current policy lapses I will lose out on a year. The £250 quote was with the no claims and the woman said if you take the...
Also I just thought, I need to tax the car too, which I need insurance for.
Can I tax it with temp cover insurance?
Also got a call back from Flux tomorrow to ask about temp cover as they guy I have just spoken too never actually gave this option. He was probably being a sneaky salesman but...
Thanks for the advice. Greenlight wont cover the car as it is non modified. And Flux were a little better, but not competative on the price as I needed to geta new policy. Having problems with mirroring my no claims. I have a quote from Endlsigh at £250 but have to get proof of my no claims to...
The second car is actually another Clio! Just a non-sport.
Currently insured through Adrian Flux. When I get the 172 back on the road I will probs go with Greenlight, this time they didnt offer drive any car 3rd party as I was too young by less than a month when I started my policy.
I have just bought a second car which will be the daily drive, the 172 is then goign to be SORN'd when its insurance runs out at the end of September as I want to drive it to Castle Combe in September so I need it insuring.
If I get a new policy with the new car I wont be able to use any of my...
Another option is to remove all the sound deadening and then refit the upper layers. Like Someone mentioned to me refit the head lining after the stuff under neath had been removed. Still has its refinement and removes weight. However you can't really do that when it comes to pollying the...
Like can you see the crap the plug attracts when you remove it after a while? I know on the video on the website the amount of material they put in wasn't representative but for show, but can you see it working?
Oh and placebo upgrades are defo worth the extra money if they don't work...
I know I should start collecting my own tools (I got a tool box + some tools last Christmas to start off the collection), but his tools are a lot better quality and over the years has gathered everything! Although I bought the set of sump plug keys the other year the first time I changed the oil...
This is the same questions I am having myself about mine. I know mine is a bit more stripped as I have no carpets, but I want to remove the roof lining and poly the windows too. I am looking at a few cars this weekend for the longer journies and daily drive so I can go full race car on the Clio.
Pretty certain my step dad's socket set goes up to 30mm, so have this covered! If not then it will be worth buying one. Only ever do work on the car at my parents, mainly to use his tools!!
Service is due next week so just getting the parts together. Last time I did the oil the sump plug thread was a bit worn and I don't want to risk having a nakard plug so want to get a new one. Not sure if GSF/Andrew Page/ECP will have one in stock, so what dealer on here can I get one from...
Seen in your "what colour to paint the roll cage" thread you have a very nice black section on the door between the windows - I like a lot! Is this painted or vinyl?
They actually look very smart, just the look I am after!
You say "spray primer on, then paint"....did you not rub them down? Also how did you do the inserts? As the lettering on mine is worn and not that silver any more and patchy, hence why I wanted to put itto orange.
Would rather give mine a...
I'm after black background with orange lettering, don't think that is what you mean?
If it does end up looking gash I will just re-paint them black and keep them like that.
I don't want Ph2 strips, hence the re-painting of the original parts!
Well I want the lettering to stand out to match the orange on the car and didn't want to have them black like the strip, and not being like the Ph2's which the bullets are on the end, it is going to be a right pain to mask...
Doing a bit of searching and can't really find an answer to what I want to know, unless I am after something that isn't possible.
Basically I want to paint the door strips black satin to give them a new lease of life. They currently have that fine texture to them, I want to keep that if...
I'm on higher mileage and I hardly use any oil, last time I topped up was a few months ago and I use the car a lot. No smoke or anything under any kind of acceleration.
Have you checked underneath / removed the under tray thing to see if any of the chassis or other parts are covered in oil?
That first Clio is proper cool. It is BTCC Laguna style which is one of the coolest cars ever.
Also those Cossies are brilliant, the Pilot and the Repsol colours are smart.
Ok, I'll see what I can do!!!
Does the battery need taking out to remove it? If does I need to source a longer socket extension. I didn't look how to remove it when it was all apart
This didn't quite solve the problem
It did everything that you said but it there is still some play in the pedal. Also noticed that the cable seems very loose and slack at the throttle body end after the adjustment. I am thinking the cable has stretched over the years.
3M kit is what I used the other month. Great results.
Looking at it now I could have done it again to improve the results further. Been told once they have been done they will need doing regullary but will be easier to do
+1 on this.
The Hammerite Kurust is a good product to stopping light rust / rust starting to show. I've used it several times on numerous vehicles and other metal items around the home.
