I would go for the newest Mk1 you can afford, irrespective of mods. Better to have a mint, lightly modified car than a chavved up shed.
The 1.4 will be a better bet too. Grp 5 iirc.

7x16 standard issue 172 Cup Turinis. PE2's now though.
weird camera angle is to blame i think, but Turinis look big for 16" for some reason. i'm not complaining.:approve:
