Cheers mate, felt nice too. Had an oil change today so feeling better than normal!
Yours looked good too from what i could see while squinting in the sun!
Did you see the bronze 306 GTI at the lights, was sitting on 18 possible 19" wheels and standard springs, looked like a BMW X5, made me...
That was me mate, gave you a flash (of the lights) but sun so bright you prolly couldnt see! You were on the phone i think....tut tut
Was just having a little run to bed my brakes in before i let the missus loose in the week with my car while hers is off the road
They look good in principal. Never seen any tests with them tho. I imagine you could get good gains tho similar to viper etc with the filter being mounted so low down. Depends how good the waterproof cover is tho and also if this is restrictive
LOL at the fabia debate :)
Remapped diesels are set to take over the world!!!!! Leaving a Vee in its wake is quite a task really mate. What you saying is that it would also quite easily stick to the ass of an EVO etc? Must be the best kept secret in the world :) i dont doubt its fast and on...
I also have this buzzing...can someone clarify how to fix it. Is it an easy DIY job?
Its been doing my head in since i bought the car 6 months ago, i just thought it was something to put up with hahaha
Cheers if you can help
Also anyone know how much it costs to have new bearings pressed in or for the difference would it be better replacing the discs at same time. Still on original discs (done 53k) but not go a micro measuring thingy to check em properly
Am i right in thinking the minimum drop on FK highs is 40mm? this would be the only thing to put me off as at times maybe a 20mm drop would be better around large speed bumps
Right here we go again.
After checking last weekend to find my mystery straining noise at the back, and might i add failing its time for drastic action. Presuming its suspension related its given me the excuse to order some coilovers (john @ 2modified should be expecting a call).
However...
Got my 02 172 4 months ago for 6500 from a trader with 50k on clock. well it was a straight swap for my mg so no cash involved. bit high price for 50k but car was in better nick than some i seen
My sister did this in her clio, reversing into a low post. Local bodyshop repaired it and looked good as new cost her £350 but she also had a few other bits touched up so i reckon between £250-£350 if you shop around.
Try and see some examples of their work before hand tho if you can
Any advantage to this? any lower? better handling? can it be done? anymore questions? :)
Only looking for new springs for the back incase that has anything to do with the creaking noise i cant find (see other threads) and someone on here is selling 182 cup springs second had (done 10000...
Not had the car that long fred and i have never had it into a garage before except for my zorst to be fitted. When i had the wheels off a min ago there was no leakage from the dampers, Discs looked a little low but nothing major and pads altho low have a few 1000 left in them. I did notice tho...
I have been trying to sort mine out. Give your local powerflow dealer a ring. I am getting them to do custom mounts for mine next week. Guy i saw was very helpful and said its not a problem to sort it out. I am getting my bumber cut out at the same and whole lot is £30. Not to bad i dont think...
Thanks guys.
If it is the pads on the discs would this explain why it only happened when turning left and it also being intermittent depending on how sharp the turn was?
The handbrake did creak when lowering the jack yes but its the same sort of noise as when turning left.
Is it new...
While changing my pads at the front today (car on axel stands at front) i noticed while jacking oneside of the car down after removing one axel stand the rear made the same straining noise as it does when i take a left hand corner. Didnt do it when dropping the other side tho.
Am i right in...
had a quick look tonight and cant see much wrong visably. Gave the back end a bounce and cant hear any squeeks or straining noises and the return from the shock seems fine.
Is there anything i should look for tomorrow when i have a proper look and jack it up???
not very mechanically...
ok all i have sorted the tapping from the rear, dodgy renault zorst rubber! Now the problem is when turning left a get a creaking/straining noise coming from the rear left of the car. It does it more when straightening up after turning a left....any ideas please as i can have a look at sorting...
