main things to look out for on a 182

Not much really . One thing that seems to be common is the knocking on full right hand lock that can be sorted by Renault , mine has it but i can't be bothered to let the Renault monkeys hack away at my car . Usual renault rattles , you just have to live with em , mines not as bad as my 172...

How you finding the ebc pads and disks ? Any better , worse than the stock Renault ones ? There seems to be a few things you can do from reading past posts on here .Depends on your budget . Not listed in any specific order : 182 exhaust manifold . Viper air filter with cold air feed...

    Your thoughts required on this!!!!!

So i'm assuming he's a mobile guy ? Isn't there any garages in or around Edinburgh that do wheel alignment ? Back to your question . Firstly i would contact the guy and ask him about the extra charge ( no guns blazin' for now ). Tell him that it was his idea that the venue was change and that...

    CAT-D Damage? uh?

If the car was bent as you put it, it wouldn't be allowed back on the road . There was a series not long ago on SKY with Vicky Butler Henderson ,they fixed cat d write offs and put em back on the road for a prospective buyer , they had to go through a very stringent test , chassis , wheel...

    CAT-D Damage? uh?

Nothing wrong with a cat d car . It has to go through a rigorous test before it is deemed roadworthy , you can save a few grand with a cat d . http://www.ukmotoringdirectory.co.uk/forum/forum1.php?CatID=3&id=260 http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/faq.htm?id=33

    Brake bleeding help

Its not ideal , a 1 way valve is better but as long as the end of the pipe is under the surface of the fluid in the bottle it should be ok .

    Brake bleeding help

If your using a pipe with a 1 way valve like edde says you shouldn't have a problem . Ideally though its better if you have 1 person on the pedal and 1 to tighten the nipple when the pedal is down , then there is no chance of any air being sucked back into the caliper . I use a 1 way valve...

    Removing brake reservoir

Sorry mate i just nipped out . Can't remember off the top of my head but i'm almost certain its a 17mm spanner / socket . Anticlockwise on . On a right handed thread ( normal ) if you think " clock to lock " ! 13mm and 17mm spanners to remove the caliper mounting bracket to replace your pads .

    Removing brake reservoir

Just tie up the caliper onto the suspension spring so the weight of the caliper isn't gonna damage or kink the brakeline . The bolts for the caliper are pretty tight , better of using a socket rather than a spanner . If its really tight you could try tapping the socket wrench with a hammer to...

    Removing brake reservoir

Brake fluid reservoir on a caliper ?? Just undo the brakeline going into the caliper mate . Get plenty of rags ready for the fluid that will spill out , then either used a clamp for the brake line of stick something in the end of the pipe to stop it leaking out . And whatever you do " DON'T...

    Carwashnwax

I'll be surprised if you don't like it Rich . You really don't need alot in a bucket so i think a 32oz bottle will go a long way . When i used it in a 16oz bottle for the clay lube i didn't need very much and it was very slick on the paintwork , it was hard work keeping hold of the clay , lol .

    Power Steering fluid top up

Haynes manual says use " Elf Renaultmatic D2 " which i assume you would get from the dealership or " Dexron II ATF " . With the engine off and the cap off the power steering reservoir turn the wheel from lock to lock a couple of times , then with the engine on do it again , slowly from lock...

^^^^ could be worse , could have a blue background and a white cross eh ;) Try some of the wax as well , miles better than the collinite i was using , to bead water off the car . The trim gel is excellent on the tyres and black trim ,even better than the AG Bumper care which i rate highly .

    Quick de-cat question

Nationwide autocentre ( halfords ) retested mine for free last November and that was the new computerised system . Might have been after i kicked off about it failing on brake imbalance and asking them to stick it back on the rollers and prove it .
