Yep domestic cleaning isle in smaller stores , in larger stores they sometimes put em in the car care bit . They used to be blue in a flat black box , i think they've changed the colour of the cloth to orange now in the same box .
Its the one with the teeth on , looks like a cog . I got some disks for my 172 , no rings or bearings :( , good job i sold my car before i changed em lol ;)

If it says it fits a mk1 172 then it should fit without any modifications unless otherwise stated .
I'd have been back in touch with the suppliers / manufacturers and told em of your problem .Maybe its a known issue with this model of...
New kits are about £20 ish last time i bought one , that was for a Pug 306 S16 which use the same kit as the 172/182 . That was from a Pug main dealer .
Damp sponge is about the best , or just a brush down and hoover. It shouldn't fade, keep the leather clean and conditioned from time to time .

I used to average about 29mpg round town and 38 ish on the motorway in my 172 . Since i've got my new 182 i'm only gettin about 24mpg round town , just gone over the 1000 mile barrier so its still runnin' in , doesn't feel anywhere as loose as my 172 which was on 47k miles .

As to the foglight adjustment question , i don't think ya can , they are fixed .
