Yeah that's what I thought, thanks.
But I'm sure there were no holes in the big end bearings!!! :S In fact I'm almost certain, I even had them in my hand lol! Unless they are so small I wouldn't have seen without looking for them?
Apologies for going a bit off topic here.
I'm getting my words muddled up completely then! No idea what bearings are what now lol!
I assisted* my mate whilst he changed some bearings on the bottom of his con rods, whilst fitting ARP rod bolts too. I thought these were big end bearings? They didn't have any holes in them, well not...
I think I follow that, thanks.
I've never actually seen a centre main bearing, didn't know there was a hole lined up in them. Assumed they were the same as big end bearings. Got a pic for reference?
When the rod bolts are done up tight how can there be any space for the big end bearings to actually spin? Would have thought it would be so tightly clamped into place?
Genuine question by the way.
That's exactly what I want but not paying that for it!
The wire isn't needed anyway. It'll only be squished into the boss.
Will try one of those normal ones from Maplins first. For a massive 60p or whatever it is lol.
Oh so you were talking about actual slicks. No idea there were wear markers on them, learn something every day!
Off to find pictures now just for reference...
Forgive my ignorance but how do you measure the tread on a slick to know that it's past its best anyway??
EDIT: Just re read that and realised you're on about semi slicks :o
Unless there are road legal slicks I'm not aware of :rasp:
Not too bad for proper tyres then.
I didn't realise slicks weren't allowed though.
How strict are the regs with tyre depths? Being road legal do they have to actually have the road legal amount of tread, or are most of the tyres used pretty much slicks now anyway lol?
Has anyone fitted resistors to the steering wheel air bag connections after fitting an after market wheel?
I've got a Sabelt wheel now and it came with a resistor of some kind. But obviously there are two connections on the standard air bag (top and bottom). So I need to source another one...
