It was still a rant. Reemember it's the Internets, calm down dear.
I'm lucky to be in a position in life where I get to drive a hell of a lot of cars. Maybe I should stop giving posting advice based on my experience because someone is upset on the Internets.
A 1.2 Corsa Sxi is more expensive to insure than a 1.6 Astra because ballbags drive them like badmen! FACT!
Same reason my V6 TT is cheaper to insure than a 182/172. God I hate Corsas!
Bingo, they want us to use it more yet it's utterly shocking. The OH was waiting on a bus the other day, didn't turn up... at all. she waited for 45 minutes. Just decided not to turn up.
You can't run your life like that!
That's of course how the Astons end up that way, they have "soft" paint but they always want high finish so sand the orange peel, to the detriment of the car of course.
A recent DB9 I looked at was actually very well finished but possibly detailed earlier in life.
It really depends what your painting, a few mouldings then it might not be that noticeable.
To put it into perspective colours, we just done a pearl White Laguna coupe. We have 32 shades now for that colour. Halfords will have 1.
And there it is!
Oh and Harry Metcalfe did explain why people buy expensive Audi for eg, he had an RS5 for a while. They want their Wives/Children etc to feel comfortable and safe whilst still keeping up with the Jones', on the weekend the husband can rag the ass off it to a stupid level...
