Whack the Windows XP Disk in NOT the Dell cd.
Boot from it. First screen gives you the option to format and create partitions. Is fairly straight forward.
Yeah just format the C Paritition as that has the OS on it. I believe the other partition is drivers, Recovery.
I personally formatted them both and used it as one drive. Burnt drivers to Disk thats all that she needs
Echo what he said. If you have a router and havent done anything daft like forwarding all ports to one IP then dont bother with a Software based firewall.

LOL I dont think you appreciate the monster task that goes into a perfect OS. In a perfect world then yes it would NEVER need an update or to be fixed.

The thing with Windows is it is made in a way to be user friendly. This sometimes means it is flawed.
But if it was so bad then it wouldnt be used the world over for Servers, Base Units and the platform for most PC packages used in business.

Actually driver wise. I didnt have to install ANY drivers on my gaming rig, and thats an up to date system.
Only thing I needed was a driver for webcam

You would think so, bit not the case. I tried this and computer says no, you can get round it by using the a VGA cable rather than DVI, or use a DVI-VGA adaptor
