well the megane bay is considerably bigger than the 5 so i may be lucky and not have any clearance issues. supose theres only 1 way i will find out lol. even if it does need tilting slightly i cant see it being much of a problem as i have the 2 hanging mounts and the "dogbone" mount at the back...

ill be running standalone anyway so i supose i could opt for the same solution as you and put a trigger wheel on the crank pulley.
you mentioned earlier about tilting the engine forward a little. was this due to space issues in the 5 or something else?
well when i compared the VW and the renault boxes next to each other the input shaft of the VW box was nowhere near as "far out" as the renault one. i.e when you looked at them in the bellhousing the renault one was long and the VW one was short.
the spacing i was on about is the "flywheel...
can i ask how you over came the issues with the gearbox fitment?
the ones i have seen so far looking at a seat leon cupra (6speed) box are:
flywheel needs to be spaced out a couple of inches to come close to the flywheel
the sensor that sits atop the JC5
the starter motor position

why does it bother you how much more fun a 1.4 is compared to a 1.2? by fun you mean drive it like a loon and crash it which completley validates the point that your insurance is a fortune.
a car is a car, be greatfull you can consider having one and driving one wether its a 1.2 or a 1*2 it...

have you got any idea about the R19 wishbones? im hoping most of them have the same diameter bushes but being a renault im not holding out hope. it will be a mix and match for sure tho lol
if hes clever he will map it to the maximum boost it can handle then "de-tune" it so hes running within a safe limit. if not them my comment was a foolish sugestion ;)
if hes doing it properly he will have an ecu which is mapped to beyond the boost he will be running day in day out so he can put it up .5 of a psi and not damage anything. but as my comment was slightly sarcastic which seems to have been missed by you its irrelevant now.

theres more to it than that... you need to think about what running in proccess your going to use. some say to do lots of WOT blips to bed the rings in others say to be as gentle as possible. its not just a case of slapping a limiter on it unfortunatley
untill the back end of your car steps out because the brake balance is all to ****. by all means crack on, but you have been warned by people :)

no it doesent, but it looks awfull atm. i used the spray on stuff on the cylinder head and the brush on stuff for the block, the cylinder head doesent look too bad the block has bits of silver on it and dirt and generally looks pants. i had only done 800 miles too.

NDO is a 6 speed off a megane 225... so that would fit into the category mick is talkign about. gunas and other renaults have them too, been looking into it.
