    Removed cup spoiler, now...

Check your relays underneath the glovebox mate. Or take out each fuse individually to see if broken.

    Boot light switch?

The glovebox one only works when the headlights are on. The boot one should work regardless.

Was it beeping when you did the hold button trick? You did it correctly yeah? (No offence)

That's weird. I'd have thought it would have done something. Best bet is to check the fusing, you maybe shorted out the boot brake light or something.

So I thought it was Normal

I thought CC was standard on 182's? But you're true on it needing both. I just tend to think if someones paid for the additional suspension they're go for the spoiler/splitter too!

Be better if it was the automated oil filter spin button.

So I thought it was Normal

Easily removed though. Best check is the bolt spacing of the shocks.

If you hold the button on the end of the stalk when you turn on the ignition for the 'secret calibration menu' what does it do?

    Removed cup spoiler, now...

Brake lights should work regardless of the third one not being attached. Earth/fuse/relay.

Was gonna be my next shout.

    Removed cup spoiler, now...

It could be that when removing the spoiler you've pulled at the cabling. Remove the little grommet and have a look, or pop down the headlining although i'm not really sure what there is to see. You sure the battery is OK? You could have a look behind the bottom trim in your boot at the earths...

    Removed cup spoiler, now...

Very odd. I didn't have any problems myself mate! Plug your brake light back in and see if it makes a difference, what was that electrical tape hiding? Did you disconnect the neg terminal at all? Check that the earth nut on that is securely fastened. You got a picture of the connector that you...

    Measure that spacing.

    Paint defect, scratches

I realised when typing it had been repainted but wanted to eat my tea so submitted it haha.

    Paint defect, scratches

Called it. Looks to have been off before as that electrical tape isn't normal. Was it just the normal connector underneath that?

    Boot light switch?

Isn't it the same as the one in the glovebox? Swap them round for a simple test.

    Racing blue

Just get it back for the principle more than anything. It'll easily sell if you don't want to fix it. Best of luck with everything.

    Racing blue

Those alloys aren't a totally standard colour ;) Looked very clean though. You going to get the car back?

Black and silver 172 - trinity street, huddersfield.

I don't think they were together, but they just happened to be 2 cars away from one another. Neither looked in great condition tbh.

Two 172's just near my house whilst I was walking up the road. Guy in the silver one stopped and got out, but didn't seem like he really wanted to talk.

    Yorkshire Winter Chit-Chat

The roads near the huntsman are fairly bouncy but they're OK. Some nice roads going on holmfirth road/ Meltham way.

    Paint defect, scratches

I presume you'll be removing the brake light too. Do this from behind with a pen through the hole. I just have images of you cracking it by using a knife/screwdriver.

    Paint defect, scratches

Top tip, to avoid scraping anything put a microfiber cloth under the area where the boot opens/edge of the roof. Then with the boot up all the way remove all the screws. Then you can easily pivot the spoiler to unclip the hose/plug and lift it out. Just be careful if you do lower the bootlid as...

    Paint defect, scratches

Under the cup spoiler are some 'holes' but I'm pretty sure there's nothing underneath that would get damaged. What I did was tape up the holes, and wrap up the cup spoiler cabling in some tape and fastened it down so it wasn't flying about. I wasn't driving the car, but just wanted to avoid it...

No cigarette lighter power/flickering rev counter

Well I'm an idiot. If anyone else experiences this problem, make sure you've not used the LED live as your ground. All sorted now! Won't make the same mistake again.

We have an S40 sat on the driveway if you're interested. Although @leeds_182 is closer. Think the sills are pretty dodgy on it now but was very well looked after when it was on the road!
